Freshwater Fish Camp - June 5-9, June 19-23
Fish Camp is all about fishing. Topics will include tackle assembly and use, knot tying, casting, and angling techniques. While most of the day will be spent fishing, campers will learn valuable information about fish identification, fish feeding preferences, tackle selection, fish handling, and fish cleaning. boating safety, oaring, trolling motor operation and boat fishing techniques will be covered. Campers are provided with all gear necessary for fishing. Each participant will receive a Zebco 33 rod and reel, and each camper will be given a tackle box full of tackle. At the close of Camp, campers take their fishing equipment home to use for future fishing. Our goal is to have participants leave camp equipped to be successful anglers.
Freshwater Fish Camp Advanced - June 12-16, June 26-30
(ONLY for graduates of Basic Camp)
Fish Camp Advanced expands upon the skills learned during Fish Camp. New techniques will be learned such as fly fishing and woodland survival skills! Campers are provided with new tackle to restock their tackle box from previously attended Camp and a rod and spinning reel is provided to update their fishing gear. Campers will be introduced to boating safety and boating navigation in a jon boat and learn to fish while in a kayak. At the close of Camp, campers take their fishing equipment home to use for future fishing. Campers leave Fish Camp with an appreciation for the sport of fishing, as well as the knowledge required for ethical angling.
Archery Camp - July 10-14, July 17-21
Campers will learn many aspects to the sport of archery, including archery equipment, proper shooting techniques, and different disciplines of archery. Campers will also learn about common Florida game animals' ecology, anatomy, and habitats. Campers will practice their archery skills and sportsmanship while competing in an archery tournament. USA Archery instructors will provide the necessary equipment and guidance for campers to learn and improve their archery skills. Our goal is to have each child leave camp with the knowledge, confidence, and safety to continue their interest in the sport of archery.
