The City of Clewiston Recreation Department hosts a "Beginning" Fish Camp and an "Advanced" Fish Camp over the summer months. The Fish Camp is open to youth from 9-15 years old. Fish Camp lasts 5 days and includes basic skills such as; equipment nomenclature, line selection, knots, casting instruction with push button and spinning reels, lure selection, ecology, fish biology, boat & water safety and stewardship of the environment. Instructors are local fishing guides, local marina owners, fishing club members and recreation staff.

The US Forest Service provides the general public with information on land management practices. Osceola National Forest offers many opportunities for a wide range of visitor experiences, such as camping, hiking, swimming, fishing, hunting, riding horse trails, wildlife viewing and many more. Currently the Osceola National Forest offers several youth opportunities, including the Junior Rangers Program, Youth Conservation Core, and others as they become available.

Land O'Sunshine Camp Cedarbrook


The mission of Land O'Sunshine Camp Cedarbrook is to provide children and adults a safe camping experience that helps them build healthy relationships with Jesus, each other, and themselves in order to promote growth and maturity. These goals are incorporated into programs such as small group activities, training and safety, respect for our environment, setting goals through an outdoor environment, having fun, and modeling by mentors.

YMCA Camp Wewa

YMCA Camp Wewa is a co-ed camp, located 15 miles north of Orlando in Apopka, Florida. Orlando and all of its attractions (Disney, Universal, Sea World, etc.) are all within a 30-minute drive. Daytona Beach (The World's Most Famous Beach) is just a short 60-minute drive away. Camp Wewa opened in 1950, providing fun, safe, and rewarding camp experiences to campers and staff on the same site.
