The Let's Move! Outside Initiative strives to bring together youth-serving and outdoor focused organizations to continue Tampa's community wide effort to engage youth and adults in outdoor appreciation through service.
Life Sports Fitness is a tax-exempt organization that delivers high quality, fun, educational fitness programs for children. We provide school-age children with out-of-school-time (OST) youth development options in year-round programs teaching life skills and core values via sports, fitness and positive mentorship. We pride ourselves in our ability to teach, motivate and inspire children by unleashing their potential.
Our mission is to empower youth and expand their possibilities through teaching them to fish and enjoy the outdoors. We give them an opportunity to develop skills and enhance their self-esteem. We also aim to provide exceptional experiences for youth, teaching life skills to stay off drugs, in school and out of gangs. Recently we have added more boating, snorkeling and scuba certification.
The mission of the Freeport Parks and Recreation Department is to enhance
the quality of life for all citizens of this community by providing
passive and active recreational, educational , and cultural programming
services for all age groups.
Our community currently supports Dixie Youth Baseball/Softball, recreational basketball and volleyball, soccer, youth football, ultimate Frisbee, disc golf, tennis, municipal pool, ZUMBA, pool aerobics, hiking trails, cycling, and we have an interactive playground.
Florida Keys Community College is an open-access, educational institution dedicated to serving the intellectual, diverse, cultural, and occupational needs of the Florida Keys as well as the global community. The college is committed to student-centric academic programs and services, workforce development, continuing education diverse partnerships, electronically delivered instruction, and sustainable practices that prepare students for personal success and responsible citizenship.
The Palm Beach Zoo & Conservation Society exists to inspire people
to act on behalf of wildlife and the natural world. They advance their
conservation mission through endangered species propagation, education and
support of conservation initiatives in the field.
Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo is on a mission to "Connect People with the Living
Natural outdoor exhibits for more than 1,500 animals from Florida and similar habitats include a Native Florida Wildlife Center and manatee hospital, Asian Gardens, Primate World, Free-Flight Aviaries, Wallaroo Station children's zoo, and Safari Africa. The Zoo also features rides, shows and hands-on interactive exhibits designed to give you a WILD experience.
Gumbo Limbo Nature Center is a unique cooperative project of the City of Boca Raton, Greater Boca Raton Beach and Park District, Florida Atlantic University (FAU), and Friends of Gumbo Limbo. Each year, visitors receive valuable environmental education while enjoying respite from the city bustle. As a beacon for environmental education, research, and conservation, Gumbo Limbo's 20 acres of protected barrier island not only provides refuge to many varieties of plants and animals - some rare or endangered - but represents a commitment to protect our natural resources.
